2025 Let's Do It World Annual Report
Second official year as a UN International Day. Record participation across Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia with strengthened corporate partnerships.
About the Global Movement
World Cleanup Day is the biggest civic environmental movement in human history, uniting 212 countries and territories on the UN Calendar.
The Spark · 2008
In 2008, in the small Baltic nation of Estonia, over 50,000 people—equal to 4% of the country's population—stood up on a single day to clean up the entire country. In just five hours, they removed over 10,000 tons of illegally dumped waste.
The simplicity and spirit of the “Let's Do It!” attitude spread across borders. Other nations adopted the one-country, one-day model, evolving into a 36-hour green wave following time zones from Fiji across Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas to Samoa.
Today, World Cleanup Day is an official United Nations International Day (UN General Assembly Resolution 78/122), mobilizing up to 25 million active participants each year.
50,000 volunteers clean the whole nation in 5 hours.
18 million environmental heroes unite across 157 countries.
UN officially proclaims 20 September as World Cleanup Day.
Crossed 139M lifetime participants across 212 territories.
Our Philosophy
Go far together
We bring together citizens, businesses, NGOs, and governments. Waste belongs to no one and affects everyone.
Solutions over blame
We do not point fingers or prophesy doom. We inspire constructive, uplifting community action against trash blindness.
Every volunteer is a leader
Systemic change starts within people. Anyone can pick up trash, lead a neighborhood crew, and transform culture.
